Fun Facts About Me

•Started writing code when I was 14. The first game I made was an 8-bit version of Pac-Man®, on QBASIC, which was kinda like an MS-DOS terminal on old Windows 95/98/NT platforms.

•A year later I made another game, which was supposed to be a top-down scrolling shooter, kinda like Galaga™, but I instead wanted the challenge of making a side-scrolling adventure, so I re-engineered it to work sideways instead, and made a side-scrolling tank-shooting game. It was fun. Rainbow lasers galore.

•I also studied things like Screen Printing, Drawing, Painting, Programming C++ with some 3D modeling, and Japanese, because I wanted to work for either Nintendo, or Square Enix at that time.

•When it came time to go to college, I was torn between something either Creative, or Technical, and even almost chose Psychology (out of empathy for helping other people). So I looked at schools like DigiPen in Seattle. Portal was a senior project that came out of that school at the time. I also looked at Ringling College of Art + Design in Sarasota, FL, and I had a friend that was going there at the time, and his brother went there too, and worked as an Animator for Disney. Both schools seemed like really viable options for a high tech-creative career. I wound up choosing Ringling, and studied there from 2008-2012. Learned a lot from the creative side of things (Children’s Books, Filmmaking, Animation, Graphic Design, Illustration, Creative Writing, etc.) while getting to use a lot of high-end technology. Had the chance to work with professional workshops with Disney, Carters, Abercrombie & Fitch, and Hasbro. Great way to kick start a career.

•I picked coding back up again after college in 2013, and started teaching myself HTML, CSS, Javascript, SASS, WordPress, Drupal, some PHP, a little bit of MySQL, git, you name it.

•Most of my career has been working in Marketing & Advertising, as a Designer and Developer, advertising products for Stanley Black & Decker, and a lot of Licensed artwork for Unique Industries which includes Disney, Marvel, Star Wars™, Nickelodeon, emoji®, Shopkins™, Hatchimals™ etc!

•In 2014 I moved to Philly to start working for Unique as a Designer in Advertising.

•In 2015 I started attending Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church (OPC) to nurture my faith in Jesus Christ and my relationship with God. I made a bunch of friends along the way, and also met my future wife, Becky. 🙂 I also got promoted from Designer to Front-End Developer. It felt like the right calling of a creative and technical career.

•In 2016 I became a member of Calvary OPC, and got involved in a lot of Youth Ministry: teaching Sunday school, summer camps, youth group, short term trips, etc.

•In February of 2017, we ran our first year of the Kamélos Winter Youth Conference near the Pocono mountains of PA, and had around 100 youth in attendance. Anticipating growth for 2018.

•In August of 2017, I proposed to Becky, and on November 4th we had our beautiful Fall Wedding, and started our new married life together. 🙂
